As part of the VISION4FOOD project, a Food Innovation Platform (FIP) Warm-up Event was held in Verona, Italy, on 5 February 2026, bringing together regional stakeholders to initiate discussions on future food system innovation.
Organised by Confagricoltura and hosted at Fieragricola in Verona, the event brought together 26 participants representing farmers, industry, academia, and other agri-food stakeholders. Moderated by Michele Contel, the session was designed to encourage interaction and exchange, with participants rotating across different booths throughout the event.
Discussions highlighted the importance of engaging directly with farmers and agricultural professionals, who formed the largest stakeholder group present. The event provided an opportunity to capture practical perspectives from primary producers, agronomists, and sector representatives at an early stage of the Food Innovation Platform development.
Participants also underlined the need to better connect innovation with real agricultural practices, particularly in relation to regional production systems and market conditions. The interactive format supported continuous dialogue and exchange among stakeholders.
The event concluded with positive engagement and interest in future collaboration. Representatives from farmer organisations and the wider agri-food sector expressed willingness to remain involved in upcoming activities, contributing to the further development of the regional Food Innovation Platform.
