The European Rural Development Network (ERDN), founded in 2002, connects research institutions across Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe to advance rural development, agriculture, and regional policy. It fosters knowledge exchange, international collaboration, and policy engagement, linking researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders. ERDN actively participates in Horizon Europe and other EU-funded initiatives, supporting sustainable rural development through advisory work, research projects, and innovation platforms.
Role in VISION4FOOD:
As a key partner in VISION4FOOD, ERDN enhances cross-regional collaboration to strengthen sustainable food systems. It facilitates Food Innovation Platforms (FIPs), engages stakeholders, and supports the co-creation of governance models tailored to regional needs. Leveraging its expertise in Quadruple Helix models and Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI), ERDN ensures rural voices shape policies, promoting inclusive and resilient food governance in Europe.
